A review by David Maddox
Haynes Publishing, renowned for creating durable and practical users guides for car, bike, tank, barbeque,
and who-knows-how-many other items have teamed with Del Rey to release a detailed history and guidebook
to modifying your YT-1300 Corellian Freighter.
The book is amazingly detailed, starting with a history of the YT-1000 and going all the way up to
the YT-2400 (like Dash Rendar's Outrider), and giving the pros and cons of each model. Then it moves on to
the YT-1300, and most notably the Millennium Falcon herself. There's a brief history of her famous captain,
cutaways and detailed explanations of ship systems and locations, and equipment that comes standard on each vessel.
The book goes on to tell how the ships are designed to be modified to suit the owners needs. There are multiple
examples of cockpit placement, hyperdrive locations, and additions that can be added at an additional expense.
While there are a few pictures from the films mixed in, the graphic designs, and structural layout of the
illustrations are far more detailed than anything that has appeared in any official vehicle and starship guide
so far. If you're a fan of the ship that made the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs, you will definitely want
this one for your collection.
