Utah Photos

Southern Utah's pretty amazing. After we attended CONduit, we made the six hour drive down from Salt Lake City with a great gang of folks. We were in the wild girls' car, in the company of the wild girls themselves, Julie and Anna. In the other car were Mike (one of the regular organizers of this post-con trip), Pamela and Cammie. Much hiking, meals in big scary buildings, fruitless searches for Warhead candy and other adventures were had.

I don't have as many of the grand views here--those'll be showing up on MaryAnn's site at some point. But for now, you can have a look at these. The square photos are mine, taken with my trusty Polaroid, while the rest are by MaryAnn (unless she's in the photo).

Many thanks to all who went down with us for making this such a wonderful and memorable trip, and to Jonni as well, who did all the original organizing before ever we left Ottawa.

My new best friend. So long as I had chips for him:

I don't know why, but I really enjoy using black and white film in the Polaroid. They should also make a sepia film.

Of course colour's fun, too, but the Polaroid just wasn't catching the wonderful red rock of these canyons.

Here's the gang of adventurers, minus MaryAnn who was taking the picture:

We didn't get much of a chance to do any art, but on one hike while we were waiting for Cammie to come back, MaryAnn, Mike and I all got out our paintboxes and tried to capture the view. Here's the watercolour I did from my sketchbook.
