Ratings
Ratings are based on a four star system.
One star means that the commercials are more entertaining than the program.
Two stars watch if you have nothing better to do.
Three stars is good solid entertainment.
Four stars means you never dreamed television could be this good.

Smallville December is the cruelest month, at least as far as new content on television goes. Even if you watch everything -- sf, superheroes, fantasy, and horror -- there are only 14 new episodes airing. My recommendations: Smallville, Sanctuary, and Doctor Who.

SF on TV in December 2010

Thursday, December 2
The Vampire Diaries, "The Sacrifice" by Caroline Dries
Fringe, "Entrada"

Friday, December 3
Smallville, "Luthor" (Lionel Luthor)
Supernatural, "Caged Heat"
Medium, "Blood on the Tracks"
Sanctuary, "For King and Country", by James Thorpe

Supernatural Thursday, December 9
The Vampire Diaries, "By the Light of the Moon"
Fringe, "Marionette"

Friday, December 10
Smallville, "Icarus", (Hawkman and Stargirl)
Supernatural, "Appointment in Samarra", by Sera Gamble and Robert Singer
Medium, "Ready for the World"
Sanctuary, "Vigilante" by Alan McCullough

Fringe Friday, December 17
Sanctuary, "Hollow Men" by James Thorpe

Saturday, December 25
Doctor Who, "A Christmas Carol", by Steven Moffat

I've never watched The Vampire Dairies, but those interested in vampires may want to know that The CW is repeating the entire second season during the week of December 13. Another show I've never watched, Medium, has been cancelled. The Event will return in February 2011, with a recap of the first ten episodes. Torchwood returns Summer 2011.
