DAW Books
DAW was formed when Donald A. Wollheim left Ace as their SF editor and formed his own company. He began
by publishing many of the authors (Marion Zimmer Bradley, E.C. Tubb, Andre Norton, etc.) he cultivated at Ace
creating a distinct look with their yellow spines. Slowly, he added new authors (C.J. Cherryh, Tanith Lee, etc.).
Since then, DAW has managed to establish the careers of many popular authors (Melanie Rawn, Jennifer Roberson,
Sean Russell, etc.)
