Here's a dumb question....

I have never been to or given a book reading. How much of a book is usually read during the reading? Is it a chapter, or just a few pages?

I've never been to a reading, but I've seen a video of Neil Gaiman at a reading. He read a short story. But he is a very popular author and has an excelent speaking voice. If you have kids, read to them, and if they start to loose interest, you've read enough. My guess is fifteen to twenty minutes is about right.
