A story about god and the final judgement

Hi!
I really need to know the title and the author of this one science fiction story I vaguely remember.

It's about a criminal, who has died and is under court. The judge has to decide if he goes to hell or heven. God is called to testify. The surprised criminal asks him why he isn't the one to decide about what will happen and God answers that he can't judge the criminal because he knows everything about him and has seen everything, he cannot say that a person is all good or all bad.
I don't remember how the story ends.
