Tribute to the "Forever War"???

I remember this story (3 books I think???) that was labled as a nod towards the Forever War.

Basically, kids taken to battle an enemy on Tau Ceti 4 I think. Light speed difference means they grow up by the time they arrive. Many different sub plots. a US Army PAthfinder group, Israli Armoured unit, Russian Helicopter pilot. And an android that is a Brit RAF Officer. Think the stopry ends with them ending the campaing at the same time another earth fleet arrives to tell them it is the wrong planet.

2nd and 3rd books are similar but on a jungle and underwater planet....I think.

Any one know the names of the books and the authors? Think there were two authors.
