This is the place to ask about that story you remember so well -- but can't remember the title and author.

Trippy 70s sci-fi movie...

Postby bbmcrae » Sat Nov 04, 2006 1:47 am

This was a film that seemed to deal with mind control. The main character kept hallucinating.

All I clearly remember is a scene where he stands in front of a toy store with toy soldiers in the window that suddenly come to life and march at him. Weird movie with a odd look and I'd love to see the whole thing.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I looked that title up...that's not it....you may have the right movie in mind but wrong title. It definitely was a 1970s movie, judging by when I saw it (very early 80s on TV) and its look. Hmmm.

Do you remember anything else about it?

Thanks very much.

Altered States, maybe? I only have a vague memory of that one so it is ony a shot in the dark.

Dim memory

I'm trying to dig up dim memories. Maybe Mel Gibson was the star?

No, it's older than that. Maybe early 1970s. It's a toughie. One of those movies I begin to think I dreamed.

Hi,
this might be the Hammer horror film "Asylum" (1972), starring Herbert Lom and Peter Cushing amongst others. There is a really creepy scene, where HL is murdered by a creepy small robot bearing his face en miniature and brandishing a pen knife. And yes, it's trippy!
