Thanks for posting that link, spacecat! I was glad to have the opportunity of looking over the Hugo nominees. I even have some comments:

Sure surprised to see Lord Weary's Empire there...seems I just read it, and it flashed right onto the charts.

Ever notice how many Mikes there are winning Hugos? "Dawn, and Sunset, and the Colours of the Earth" by Mike Flynn ought to win a Hugo for retaining Lovecraft's spelling in an American sf mag.

"How to Talk to Girls at Parties" gave the readers so much help in their personal lives that I can see why it's up for a Hugo.

My first vote would be for Joseph T. Majors' "Heinlein's Children". I know how much Majors would appreciate that award.

"Pan's Labyrinth" seems too gory for a Hugo.

Glad to see Stargate there. I sure favor it over BSG.

Second vote I'd cast, Stephen Martiniere as best artist. There's a man who truly earns a Hugo!

I don't like the fanzine nominees too much. "Banana Wings", semi-prozine "Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet", what was it running against, "Punch?" And SFFY is a single issue, not a fanzine, more like a one-shot.

you're behind the times John, Punch stopped publishing many years ago. And in the latter years it was a vanity project of Mohammed al-Fayed, the proprietor of Harrod's now best known for his bizarre conspiracy theories about the deaths of Princess Diana and Fayed's son Dodi.

Ooops, can't get there that way, It was the cover for Hammerfall by C.J. Cherryh. It's several(about 16) scifi covers past that starting point....
His Astro Art is great too.

It is easier for me to pick an author than an artist. Author's only get judged on one work for the year. I may or may not get to read all the entries - but I can look at all the artwork.
