SF Site in the Locus Awards

And the 2012 nominees are...

SF Site in the Locus Awards

The Locus Awards this year combined fiction magazines, print magazines, on-line magazines, and review magazines. SF Site came in #14, which isn't too bad. That is just below Ansible and above Weird Tales.

I notice a tendency for winners this year to be superstars, which has not happened in the past. Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge got 400 more points than the number two sf novel. The Temeraire series got more than 700 points more than number two in the Best First Novel spot. In the Young Adult category, Terry Pratchett beat Ursula Le Guin by 250 points. And in the short story category, Neil Gaiman's "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" got more than four times as many points as the runner up.

Well, with a title like that, how could he miss?
