2009 Locus Awards

You can vote on the Locus Awards at www.locusmag.com. Don't forget to vote for sfsite as best magazine. And if you absolutely have to, I won't object if you nomininate my short story Aliens from the December Analog.

I'd also like to see votes for Phil Foglio as best artist and Girl Genius, Voice of the Castle as best art book. I met Phil Foglio at NYCon and was astonished that he wasn't even listed as attending in the program book.

On other book I'm "pushing" is Gene Wolfe's An Unwelcome Guest for best fantasy novel.

The Locus Awards are out. SF Site didn't do badly. We're #12 in the Best Magazine category, with 50 votes and 15 first place votes. F&SF came in number one as usual, followed by Asimov's and Analog.

Just read on Neil Gaiman's journal that Charles N Brown, publisher, editor and co-founder of Locus died peacefully on July 12th. Apparently he had been very concerned in his later years to ensure that Locus would continue without him.
