My mother has placed a bet that Hillary Clinton has a chance at becoming the first female US president. It would be nice to see, me being democratic if I was american. What's the concensus? Is the US ready for a female leader?

I'm curious, how many female state governors have there been in the US? Or city mayors?

I can only think of three state governors, one each in Texas, Utah and Rhode Island.
But I have to admit that I only pay attention to my own state and the closest neighboring state(where my family still lives) as far as the state elections go.

This is my first post from China. I'm in a hotel in Shanghi.
I think Hillary can be nominated, but I don't think she can win. There is, for example, a quote in the news feed on the current Doonesbury that basically says, Hillary is a liar, liar, liar, liar, liar. This is the standard take that conservatives have on Hillary -- short of specificis, long on name calling. But they hate her so much that they will turn out in record numbers to vote against her.
