my back hurts...

...and I blame Steven Erickson (his latest in the fantasy Malazan series, "Reapers Gale").

The book is huge and heavy, but too awesome to put down so my incorrect reading posture did something strange to my back.

so now I'm stuck on page 800 or so and need to finish it..but am afraid of making my back worse.

That is why I usually wait for the paperback. I've come to love trade paperbacks.

Stand with your legs spread, and reach for your left foot with your right hand, without bending your knees. Stretch in that direction for a count of three, then switch to right foot, left hand. Ten reps should fix your back -- or kill you as the case may be.
