There are many minds out there. Not only on this plain of existence but elsewhere in the universe and other dimensions yet to be discovered. All mind arises from the source and when the organic mind perisheses it returns to the source or Tao. No I and you are not alone, we are surrounded by consciousness in all forms and existences. This information I gained on one of my kinder psychotic episodes. Not all consciousness is good, not all evil. But both sides of the coin exist.

Whats the point in all this? The is no point. There is existence and source. Both everlasting the first as a cycle and the other as a permanent state.

I have no reason to think ChrisC has gone off his meds. I hope, of course, that he hasn't; and that if he has he gets back on them right away. There is no essential difference between meds the mind needs and meds the body needs -- diabetics shouldn't go off insulin. The mind is an organ, just as the heart is an organ, not some mystic ball of pure light.

On the other hand, reading the Tao is no sign that someone needs medication. The Tao is not religion, just good common sense.

I was off the meds for awhile when I came up with that. I found it written on a piece of paper in my cupboard. I am on meds now.

A very good little essay. All these people who are concerned with your health and well-being are just exactly what you were talking about. They're what's out there, beyond the self. However, I think they would prefer to be described in some other way than you described them--as kindly and solicitous friends.
