e-readers for academic papers

The only reason I would get an e-reader would be for reading academic research papers - which tend to come as PDFs in A4 or letter-size. Anyone here in the habit of using Kindles or the like for this particular genre?

I use my computer for academic PDF's. They seem easy to enlarge if necessary. I recently bought a new flat screen monitor for my home coupter, and got rid of the bulky old monitor at the city recycle plant. Couldn't be happier with the lighter, wider screen and much brighter picture. Comptuer games that I thought were in dark dungeons are now brilliantly clear.
