I read this book close to 20 years ago. I still remember it.
I believe it was set in India. There was a man, he was a "personality profiler". He would use interviews with the subject, enter it into a computer and build a simulated personality. Once finished, you could interview the simulation and find out the deepest secrets of the persons life.
In the book, the "subject" was a person with the name Singh. (I think). He was a religious/political figure with some secrets to hide. He openly cooporated with the interviews, but secretly was trying to manipulate the simulation to hide his secrets.
Any help would be appreciated.
