I've read a (unintentional?) funny book by a danish author. A guy with a time travel device goes mad, believes that everything bad comes from christianity, and therefore decides to go back and kidnap Jesus - he couldn't kill him, because that is what happened in the first place. The people in Palestine are very quick to make a goldfish their new religious icon. Jesus is brought back to present day Copenhagen (apparantly you cant alter the present), where he is horrified by the´way the churches use him and "his father".
Unfortunatly I dont think there is a translation to english...

It's not the ending, but just a small part of a gigantic story
