So this years winner is Spin. Has anybody read it?

Unbelievably NZ bookshops do not stock either this or Camouflage (the 06 Nebula winner) :(

Hey K1w1,

Read it about 8 months ago. Pretty good yarn all in all. Slow-pace - doesn't give away too much at the beginning.

If you like hard science with your fiction you should like this. I read 2 of the other nominees - Learning the World and A Feast for Crows - and preferred those to Spin, but that's just personal taste. I loved Darwinia but haven't enjoyed anything quite as much from Wilson since then.

cool, I just finished reading Spin 2 days ago (didn't know it won Hugo at the time)...I read the review on sfsite and it seemed interesting so picked it up a while back.

I was not blown away by it, but for sure it's a good read.

I just picked up Spin last Friday at a Used Book Store. I bought it mostly because of the voting for it in the Best Read of the Year here. And because other readers of it on the SF-Books site forum (a site I trade at) really liked it.

So now it's the Hugo winner - even better!

I'm trading SF&F books at

Tell'em spacecat sent you!
