I have a book stuck in my head that I have been dying to find. My only problem is that I don't know the title/author! (Big problem)
It's a Sci-fi survival (post-apolcalyptic) world in which war has devastated the planet. It feels like a Stephen Coontz book in regards to the technical information on aircraft and aircraft combat. The hero of the story flys an F-16 that he was the commander of before the war. One of the distinct things about it that I remember is that Pittsburg (renamed "The Pitts") was a shady waystation where you could get your aircraft serviced and re-armed, for a price.
I know that's not much to go on, but I remember loving it the first time around (maybe 12-15 years ago) and I would love to get my hands on it again.
