What is the best sleeping pill that works and doesn't cause too many side effects?

The "sleeping pill" that works for me is to read for an hour, then turn out the light and go over what I have read in my mind. I always fall asleep before I finish telling myself the story.

I've discovered a similar sleeping aid: audiobooks. I put on a spoken word CD, turn the light out and always seem to drop off before it's finished.

I would think it would depend on the audiobook. I doubt I would drift off to Harry Potter. Maybe the collected speeches of George W. Bush.

The Einstein Intersection by Samual R Delany.
That'll put you right to sleep.

Let me say that I loved The Einstein Intersection. But, I do agree that you need to pay attention, or you'll drift off. I guess I like books that you need to pay close attention to.
