Does my own art count?

Is that "State of Decay" cover yours?

It's the cover to my upcoming novel - I wish I could take credit for the art, but it was the work of the folks in the art department at Ace/ROC

Oh ok, neat. So you write and do art? Why didn't you do the art for your own book?

The publisher has their own art department, so they don't allow authors to do their own cover art but honestly I could never have done as good a job as they did so I can see why
