August marks the 70th anniversary of the comic's inception and to mark the occasion they are reissuing the first issue next month! I've never read the comic but I will look out for this!

You are apt to be disappointed. Almost all golden age comic books are amazingly bad by today's standards. (The major exception to that rule is Donald Duck by Carl Barks.)

I have a reissue of the first few Superman comics and found it interesting to see how much the character has changed. Back then he was very much a Depression-era hero, fighting corrupt city officials, crooked bosses and the like. I would hardly have been surprised if he had an IWW card tucked into his briefs ...
