They might as well just give the best novel Hugo to The City and the City now, though I doubt that I'll read it, having been unable to get into Perdido Street Station. Another much Hugoed writer I can't stand is Charles Stross. Stories about unpleasant people doing incomprehensible things seem to be popular.
I'm sure Avatar will win best drama long form, though I'll be voting for Star Trek, and for Dollhouse on the short form.
If you aren't sure who to vote for in the fanzine category, let me recommend Challenger by my old buddy Guy Lillian, who has been wanting a Hugo for as long as he's been alive. (He came from the womb crying for a Hugo for best new baby.)
