A few examples of my SF fractal art

Postby HAL Jr » Mon Oct 11, 2010 1:37 pm

I like to play with fractals now and then, and heres a few I came up with.
This one I called Through the Vanishing Point-it uses a group of Julia set fractals to represent spaceships entering a black hole or wormhole:

And this is like a Borg mother ship meets Death Star.

And this is well, I'm not sure!

When the crew of the exploratory vessel were awakened from stasis, the first thing they discovered was that the nebula was made not of intergalactic gas and dust, but a massive cluster of dimensional doors.

I must have had 2010 Odyssey 2 in my mind when I created that last one-where the monoliths reproduce exponentially and take over Jupiter.

These are good! You should submit them to Asimov's and Analog as cover art.

Really Rick, you think so? You know I'd never have thought of that! Do they accept digital submissions, as submitting by post would be expensive as I'm not in the US?

I don't know if Asimov's and Analog accept on-line submissions for artwork. Currently, for stories, Asimov's accepts on-line submissions, Analog does not. I'd go to their web page and take a look.
