- Hacking voicemail messages?
It takes an effort of mind to recall that personal communicators were strictly science ficiton not so long ago, though I'm not aware if any SF writers explored the criminal potential.

The criminal use of personal communicators is, I think, implicit in a lot of Bill Gibson's work. And their use in law enforcement goes back to Dick Tracy's wrist radio.
