Reading the bit in Girl Genius #9 by Phil & Kaja Foglio where Agatha and Gil finally begin to spark together, and decide the only way to save Tarvek is to kill him.

Getting my high school seniors very, very interested in Philp K. Dick just by teaching them his biography. They were VERY primed to read "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale."

Reading the short chapter in War and Peace where Andrei faces combat for the first time. The heady mixture of exhilaration and fear has never, in my reading, been captured so well.

Finishing Portal Two (two-player version) with my son Hal (a computer science grad student). One of the greatest games ever! Are there any other cooperative two-player games as good?

Playing the entire game of Portal One non-stop over five hours. It's a one player game, but my son and I took turns, and afterwards I was so exhausted I had to treat myself to a fancy dinner with an expensive wine, just to recover.

Been playing a lot of Civ IV lately. Was enjoying it until I suddenly encountered arguably mankind's worst nightmare: Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire, with tanks.

Is that the one about vertices, edges, and faces?

No, tho F-E+V=2 is a good formula. This is e to the i theta = cos theta plus i sin theta.
