I can't actually think of any SF stories where extraterrestrial life forms are depicted as diminutive humanoids with green skin. Can you?

The Fredric Brown short novel Martians Go Home comes instantly to mind. Of course, he did it on purpose. Fred Brown is one of the small number of 1940/1950s writers I still read regularly.
