What's up with the F&SF Workshop that is supposed to be coming online?

I am hoping that it still happens as I'm interested in signing up.

The workshop is in limbo right now---we ran into some stuff that has to be worked out before we can launch.

Thanks for the update. It's good to know it's still happening.

Would you mind elaborating on the problems? I understand if you can't or don't want to, but I'd really like to know. It's not the crap people are talking about Baen's Bar being similar, is it?

I don't care to elaborate on the problems in a public forum, but no, they have nothing to do with any similarities between our workshop and Baen's.

I too am very excited about the ideas for the workshop Gordon as you outlined in the aug/sept issue. It seems a very important and meaningful thing for F&SF to do. As a former PHP and BB host and web developer who's worked on some knotty discussion boards, a participant in a the SFFOWWorkshop, and having some experience with the pros and pitfalls of various workshop formats I'd be interested in pitching in to a beta or development project as well. If you are envisioning beta testers, volunteer monitors, secret surfers, a user advisory group or anything like that in your implementation I'd be willing to offer some time.

Alternatively I'd just be interested what the timetable looks like to you now.
    thanks for your great work
