Islands in the Sky: The Space Station Theme in Science Fiction Literature. [Expanded] Second Edition. By Gary Westfahl. Preface by Gregory Benford. The Other Side of the Sky: An Annotated Bibliography of Space Stations in Science Fiction, 1869-1993. By Gary Westfahl. Holicong, Pennsylvania: Borgo Press/Wildside Press, 2009. Despite what you may read on the Internet, this book has never appeared in print—until now. It offers summaries of 948 novels, stories, films, and television programs involving space stations—many not mentioned in Islands in the Sky—as well as commentaries on all examined works and an introduction describing the research that led to its compilation.
