DUFF Winner

In a five-way battle, John Hertz won the Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) to represent North America at AussieCon4. Hertz beat second place contender John Purcell in 4 rounds of balloting with a tally of 73-47. A total of 131 votes were cast. Other contenders included Melanie Herz, Jeffrey Boman, and the team of Terry Fong/Jannie Shea. Hertz is a frequent Best Fan Writer Hugo nominee and the winner of the Big Heart Award.
