Translation Awards
The first SF Translation Awards were presented at the 2011 Eurocon in Stockholm. Each author and each translator will receive a prize of US$350. As both author and translator, Rajaniemi will receive $700. This year’s jury was made up of Terry Harpold, Abhijit Gupta, and Dale Knickerbocker.
- Long Form: A Life on Paper: Stories, by Oliver Châteaurenaud, translated from the French by Edward Gauvin
- Short Form: “Elegy for a Young Elk.” By Hannu Rajaniemi, translated from the Finnish by Hannu Rajaniemi
- Special Award: Brian Stableford, in recognition of his translation work
