The Munsey, previously named for nineteenth century publisher Frank Munsey, has been presented for efforts and ongoing involvement in the improvement, elevation, and continuance of keeping the pulps alive and well. In the future, the Award will be known as the Rusty Hevelin Service Award, after the fan who helped found Pulpfest, and who died in December.  The first Rusty Hevelin Service Award will be presented at this year&#8217;s Pulpfest in Columbus, Ohio on the weekend of August 9.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Astronauts John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were honored on November 16 when they were each awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in a ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda. The medals were presented by Representatives John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi and Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian award in the United States.  Glenn flew into space twice, on the third Mercury mission and on STS-95.  Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins flew on the first lunar landing mission and each also flew on a Gemini mission.  The Apollo astronauts received the Presidential Medal of Honor in 1969.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>June Foray has been announced as the winner of this year&#8217;s Icon Award by Comic-Con.  The Icon Award is presented to individuals who have been instrumental in bringing comics and/or the popular arts to a wider audience.  Foray is a voice artist who has long worked in the field and may be best known for providing the voices of Rocket J. Squirrel, Natasha Fatale, Granny, and Witch Hazel, among many others.  Beginning in the Tex Avery short <i>Wacky Wildlife</i> in 1940, Foray still works, currently voicing characters on <i>The Garfield Show</i> and <i>The Looney Toons Show</i>.  She published her autobiography in 2009.</p>

He has stated that the 2012 Fantasycon will not be held in Corby, as previously announced, and will not be chaired by Howe and Sam Stone.  The organisation is searching for a new venue and will announce the location and dates as soon as they are finalised. Joyce will also appoint a committee to overhaul the Awards system and make it more transparent and enfranchise a broader base of readers.</p>
