Brontops Baruq&#8217;s story &#8220;<i>História com desenho e diálogo</i>&#8221; was selected by Card and translated from Portuguese into English by Kastensmidt. It appears in the current issue of <i>Orson Scott Card&#8217;s Intergalactic Medicine Show</i>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OdysseyCon has announced the fifth annual OddContest, looking for 500 words or less of speculative prose poetry or flash fiction. Stories are due by January 15, 2012.  There is a $10 entry fee for adults older than 18.  Youths younger than 18 on January 1, 2012 may submit one story without the entry fee.  The 2012 final judge will be Terry Garey. Winning poems/stories will be read at OddCon, published in the program, and posted on the OdysseyCon site and the top three finishers will receive a collection of books.</p>

The contest looks for stories which explore the promise of space exploration. Young women between the ages of 13 and 22 are invited to submit short stories, essays, poems on a variety of themes in two age categories (13-18, 19-22).  The winner in each category will receive $100 cash or a new e-reader, in addition to an award certificate, a month-long writing mentorship with Ms. Dray, a feature article in her blog and newsletter, and a critique from NY literary agent, Jennifer Schober of Spencerhill Associates. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Anne K.G. Murphy and Brian Gray won this year&#8217;s TAFF race to represent North American fandom in Europe.  THey will travel to Eastercon in the United Kingdom.  Murph and Gray were elected over their competition, Frank Wu is a cordial race whcih saw the candidates working together to raise funds for the eventual winners. Murphy/Gray received 49 votes and Wu received 30 votes.  10 of the Murphy/Gray votes came from Europe/Rest of World, 12 Wu votes came from Europe/Rest of World.  There were 13 votes for No Preference and 3 votes for holdover funds.</p>
