The Munsey, previously named for nineteenth century publisher Frank Munsey, has been presented for efforts and ongoing involvement in the improvement, elevation, and continuance of keeping the pulps alive and well. In the future, the Award will be known as the Rusty Hevelin Service Award, after the fan who helped found Pulpfest, and who died in December.  The first Rusty Hevelin Service Award will be presented at this year&#8217;s Pulpfest in Columbus, Ohio on the weekend of August 9.</p>

He will continue to publish print issues through July 2012. <i>NYRSF</i> will not be accepting subscriptions past July until a decision on the magazine&#8217;s future has been made. Whatever choice is made, Hartwell is clear that the magazine will continue.</p>

Lapine notes that the worsening economic climate has made continuing the magazine impossible at this time and has released any stories still held by the magazine.  The December issue of the magazine will be placed on the <i>Realms of Fantasy</i> website for download.  Lapine&#8217;s Tir Na Nog Press purchased the magazine in March 2009 after Sovereign Media announced the magazine&#8217;s closure in January of 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Reed Business Information, which has been trying to sell off many of its magazines in a bundle, has announced that with no takers, the magazines for sale will face closure if buyers cannot be found for individual titles.  RBI&#8217;s stable of magazines which could face the axe include <i>Library Journal</i>, <i>School Library Journal</i>, and <i>Publishers Weekly</i>, all of which are used by the trade to determine purchasing. Rival magazine <i>Kirkus Reviews</i>, published by Nielsen, recently announced that it was ceasing production.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Publisher <span class="name">Charles N. Brown (b.1937)</span> died peacefully in his sleep on July 12 on his way home from Readercon.  Brown, along with Ed Meskys and Dave Vanderwerf, founded <i>Locus</i> as a fanzine in support of a Boston Worldcon bid.  When the &#8216;zine received a Hugo nomination, Brown continued to publish it, eventually turning it into the news magazine of the science fiction field. <i>Locus</i> has won 29 Hugo Awards over the years. In addition, Brown contributed book reviews to <i>Isaac Asimov&#8217;s Science Fiction Magazine</i> and year in review articles to Terry Carr&#8217;s anthology series.</p>
