The board determined that with the probationary period coming to an end with the close of 2011, holiday, family, and other end-of-year obligations kept them from reviewing the situation in a complete manner and voted to extend the period. Dorchester was placed on probation in December, 2010.

He will continue to publish print issues through July 2012. NYRSF will not be accepting subscriptions past July until a decision on the magazine’s future has been made. Whatever choice is made, Hartwell is clear that the magazine will continue.

Fiction contracted during that probationary term is acceptable for qualification for SFWA membership.

Prior to becoming an editor, Mitchell worked on the staff at Analog. Tricia Pasternak will be promoted to editorial director, Keith Clayton will be promoted to associate publisher, Anne Groell will be promoted to executive director, and Frank Parisi will be named in-house coordinator of Star Wars titles and editorial head of other licensed tie-ins.

In 1989, Rahman, along with college friend Dennis Weiler, founded Fedogan & Bremer in order to publish a collection by Charles Wandrei which had been announced by Arkham House in the 1960s and never published. The company went on to publish numerous Lovecraftian style books and in 1996 began a line of mystery publishing. The company won a World Fantasy Award, Special Award – Non-Professional in 1996.

In 1971, she moved to Atheneum to found Margaret K. McElderry, becoming the first juvenile books editor to have her own imprint.

The payment is called the “Amazon Kindle Outage Adjustment.” In addition, many authors will receive royalties based on 25% of net receipts, instead of 15% of list price, which will work out to the authors’ benefit.

Set up earlier this year, Wizard’s Tower has so far sold their own works and e-zines Dark Spires and Salon Futura, but with the plan to offer books by various other publishers. With the addition of four books by Lethe Press, a small press specializing in books written by members of the LGBT community, Wizard’s Tower begins its product expansion. Clarkesworld Magazine is also available through Wizard’s Tower.

Damnation will publish the December issue as a print issue (previously it had been announced as available on-line only) and will begin publishing new material with the February issue, not missing any issues. Damnation has already announced that the April issue will be a dark fantasy issue to coincide with World Horror Con and the June issue will be a celebration of the magazine’s 100th issue. No staff has been announced yet.

He was the editor responsible for the earliest of the Nebula Award anthologies and Science Fiction Hall of Fame, which helped keep the early SFWA afloat. Ashmead also worked for Simon & Schuster, Lippincott, and HarperCollins, retiring in 2003.
