The board determined that with the probationary period coming to an end with the close of 2011, holiday, family, and other end-of-year obligations kept them from reviewing the situation in a complete manner and voted to extend the period. Dorchester was <a href="http://www.sfsite.com/news/2010/12/13/sfwa-puts-dorchester-on-probation/">placed on probation</a> in December, 2010.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After a change in their printer, David Hartwell at the <i>New York Review of Science Fiction</i> is considering ceasing production of a print magazine, investigating the option of publishing a pdf issue of the magazine.  He will continue to publish print issues through July 2012. <i>NYRSF</i> will not be accepting subscriptions past July until a decision on the magazine&#8217;s future has been made. Whatever choice is made, Hartwell is clear that the magazine will continue.</p>

The combined magazine will double the fiction content, including four science fiction and four fantasy in each issue, although the amount of non-fiction content will be decreased. Mitchell joined Del Rey in 2002 after a long career which included editorial jobs at Baen, Bantam Spectra, and one of the founders of Warner Aspect. Prior to becoming an editor, Mitchell worked on the staff at <i>Analog</i>. Tricia Pasternak will be promoted to editorial director, Keith Clayton will be promoted to associate publisher, Anne Groell will be promoted to executive director, and Frank Parisi will be named in-house coordinator of Star Wars titles and editorial head of other licensed tie-ins.</p>

Klima and Night Shade have determined that Night Shade&#8217;s book business can not support the distribution of a periodical.  Night Shade will pay contributors to <i>Electric Velocipede</i> 23-25 and the contents of those issues will be placed on-line. If the magazine continues beyond that point, it will most likely be on-line only.</p>

Lapine notes that the worsening economic climate has made continuing the magazine impossible at this time and has released any stories still held by the magazine.  The December issue of the magazine will be placed on the <i>Realms of Fantasy</i> website for download.  Lapine&#8217;s Tir Na Nog Press purchased the magazine in March 2009 after Sovereign Media announced the magazine&#8217;s closure in January of 2009.</p>
