Carl Brandon Awards

The Carl Brandon Society has announced the winners of the Parallax and Kindred Awards. The Parallax Award is given to works of speculative fiction created by a self-identified person of color. The Kindred Award is given to any work of speculative fiction dealing with issues of race and ethnicity. Both awards carry a $1000 prize and will be presented at Arisia the weekend of January 16.

Sunburst Awards

The 2010 Sunburst Award winners have been announced. The Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic is a juried award given to a Canadian writer for a book length work of SF. The prize comes with a hand-crafted medallion and Can$1,000.
