Analog, March 2001 Analog, March 2001
reviewed by Marc Goldstein
Highlights of the issue include "Creative Destruction," an absorbing pot-boiler by Edward M. Lerner; David Phalen's "One for the Road," a conversation between a barfly and God on the nature of time and fate; J. Brian Clarke's "Wet," in which there is a covert invasion by aliens; and Brian Stableford's "The Milk of Human Kindness," which follows a parental argument over whether to feed their infant a new genetically modified milk product.

Analog, October 2000 Analog, October 2000
reviewed by Marc Goldstein
In this issue, there are a number of stories including "The Taranth Stone" by Ron Collins, Sean McMullen's "Mask of Terminus", James Van Pelt's "Friday, After the Game" and Catherine Wells' "The Nechtanite and the Inforat."

Analog, July/August 2000 Analog, July/August 2000
reviewed by Marc Goldstein
This impressive double issue has a lot to offer. First up is Catherine Asaro's novella, "A Roll of the Dice." The characters are complex, human, memorable, and sympathetic. As the plot progresses, the relationships deepen and expand in surprising and satisfying ways. Next up is Larry Niven's "The Wisdom of Demons," a brief "be careful what you wish for" parable. This theme has long since descended into cliché, but the author leaves the outcome ambiguous. Was the wish worth the price paid? Niven offers no easy answers.

Analog, July/August 1999 Analog, July/August 1999
reviewed by Ken Newquist
Analog beats the summer doldrums with a July/August edition that will have science fiction fans drooling for more. The best story of the edition -- and one of the best of 1999 -- is Adam-Troy Castro and Jerry Oltion's "The Astronaut From Wyoming."

Asimov's SF, May 1999 Analog, May 1999
reviewed by A.L. Sirois
There's a reason Analog has been around so long: quality. Not necessarily overall quality, but a high enough level that we're willing to skim over some of the rough places in order to get to the good stuff.

Analog, March 1999 Analog, March 1999
reviewed by Steve Lazarowitz
Another month and another set of fine "hard" SF stories in Analog. If anything, the March issue was even better than February's! Steve's favourite story was "Upgrade" by Ramona Louise Wheeler.

Analog Analog, February 1999
reviewed by Steve Lazarowitz
One story, "Nor A Lender Be" by James Van Pelt is a wonderfully haunting tale which Steve feels is a must-read. In fact, it may be his favourite piece in the issue though both "Vultures and Circles of Light" and "Shadow" are up there as well.
