Ratings are based on a four star system.
One star means that the commercials are more entertaining than the program.
Two stars watch if you have nothing better to do.
Three stars is good solid entertainment.
Four stars means you never dreamed television could be this good.

I was happy to see that SF Site came in tied for first on the Locus survey of online publications read (other than Locus online). Of those responding to the survey who read online publications, 42% read SF Site. To those of you in that group, your support is appreciated. Of course, I have no way of knowing how many SF Site readers also read Locus, but if you do, I encourage you to vote in the Locus poll and respond to the Locus survey. I also encourage you to nominate and vote for the Hugo Award. Make your voice heard.

Last issue, I mentioned Howard Chaykin. I usually think of him as a comic book writer, and that is where he has done his major work, but his television work is well worth following. Here is a brief filmography:

The Flash (all scripts with John Francis Moore) 19901991 The Flash
"Watching the Detectives"
"Honor Among Thieves" (story only)
"Child's Play" (from a story by Stephen Hattman & Gail Morgan Hickman)
"Shroud of Death"
"Ghost in the Machine"
"The Trickster"
"Deadly Nightshade"
"Done With Mirrors"
"The Trial of the Trickster"

In UK, pairs of episodes were released as "movies," Flash II ("The Trickster" and "The Trial of the Trickster") and Flash III ("The Ghost in the Machine" and "Deadly Nightshade")

The complete series is available on DVD.

Earth Final Conflict (season 3) 19992000 Earth Final Conflict
"A Little Bit of Heaven"
"Scorched Earth"

Available on DVD as Earth Final Conflict No Refuge.

Mutant X (2001 2002) Mutant X
"The Shock of the New"
"I Scream the Body Electric"
"In the Presence of Mine Enemies"
"Ex Marks the Spot"
"A Breed Apart"
"Past as Prologue"

Available on DVD as Mutant X: The Complete First Season.

Three DVDs are out on which I appear, providing commentary: The Legend of Prince Valiant: The Complete Series, Volume One, Flash Gordon: The Complete Series, and Defenders of the Earth. Filming these was a lot of fun.
