Ratings are based on a four star system.
One star means that the commercials are more entertaining than the program.
Two stars watch if you have nothing better to do.
Three stars is good solid entertainment.
Four stars means you never dreamed television could be this good.

The big news in April is the beginning of the new HBO series Game of Thrones, based on the best-selling fantasy series by George R.R. Martin. I've only read a little of the books. I hesitate to get hooked on a never-ending fantasy series, and what I have read by Martin has been too mundane for my taste -- too much bread and not enough meat, but HBO has a good reputation for doing things right, and fans of the books can be thankful that HBO bought them instead of SyFy.
