Although the contents have not yet been posted here, there is already a review up at Tangent Online.

  2. Gordon sends Tangent Online (along with other review sites) early files of each issue's stories. He always asks that reviewers not post a review until a certain date, which we always honor. Sometimes we post our review several days after his requested wait-until date, which we did with this review.

Just thought I'd outline the process for these things is all. Carry on. :-)

The story about the car with AI seems very interesting.

    Just finished reading this issue

Marc Laidlaw takes top honours this time with his latest installment of the saga of Gorlen and Spar. We learn many juicy tidbits about their first meeting. I really enjoyed this one.

Newcomer J.R. Dawson had a strong debut. I thought I knew how it was going to end. I was pleasantly surprised.

    Overall a good issue.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Doherty. The science columns are one of my favorite parts of F&SF. Pat Murphy and Paul Doherty have carried on the great tradition of the Good Doctor. I hope the science columns continue.

Not my favorite issue, sad to say. I finished it a couple of weeks ago, and no longer remember most of the stories. "Attachments" is a nice, gentle ghost story, but far from Wilhelm's best. "Racing the Rings of Saturn" is genuine, old-fashioned space opera, a fun read but nothing significant.

The highlight of the issue for me was "Whatever Comes After Calcutta," a story whose initial humor turns into unexpected horror. One of the few things in the issue that really lingers in my memory.

And RIP, Paul Doherty. His columns will be missed.

Attachments, Carbo, and Whatever Comes After Calcutta are the memorable stories for me. But then again, anything by Larry Niven is, by definition, worth reading.
