Movies That Are Different

Every once in a while we get a movie that is truly different. I just saw A Wrinkle in Time with four friends. I went nervously as I'd read so many really negative reviews. All five of us loved it. A Wrinkle in Time is a wonderful movie. So why the huge number of negative reviews I think it's because it doesn't fit any popular mold. It's a children's fantasy and it's a spiritual journey. Its special effects are just beautiful and all the acting is superb. I suspect the ones who didn't like it couldn't get into the idea of facing danger and solving problems without big battle scenes and blowing up the enemy. So I recommend it but only if you go in knowing this movie is different.

Marian, you raise a very interesting topic. I think that some movie reviewers don't really have an understanding of the movie that they have watched. They may also prejudice their reviews based on their beliefs and not accepting some of the "Artistic License" used in a movie.
