I saw the movie today. I liked it. As a teen in the 1980s, I could relate to the movie. One of the villains said, "....I've played Robotron and listened to Duran Duran." I was thinking, yikes, that was me when I was a teen--I hope I'm not a proto-villian.

I read commentary on the movie, including the link provided by Marian. Here, I'll try to add something different and hopefully interesting. The Ready Player One plot has been compared to the Willy Wonka plot. There is a feature that both share--both Willy Wonka and James Donovan Halliday (the creator of OASIS) have a sadness to them.
This article discusses the sadness of Willy Wonka:

In the movie Ready Player One, we learn that James Donovan Halliday had gone on a date but there were no further developments after it. Also, James Donovan Halliday's friendship with his business partner got terminated.
