The Italians will be next. Only when we can order takeout can we safely send our Big Fat America Crewmembers. Naturally, our spaceships will be Supersized (for maximum impact).

China on the moon is really an important story since it speaks to the growing ascendancy of China. What appears unfortunate, the ability of the US to respond through a revitalized space program appears to have been stifled.

An aspect of this political paralysis (the issue is much more complex), has been the reemergence of McCarthyism in a new form by the political left. Revitalization of the US space program will require that the public become motivated to support such an effort. If we don't, the Turtle (China) will eventually overtake the Hare (US).
