Arizona State University released a free sci-fi anthology about the future of solar power

The Weight of Light: A Collection of Solar Futures is free to download

"The Weight of Light: A Collection of Solar Futures is about “exploring human futures powered by solar energy,” and is part of a broader publishing program from the University’s Center for Science and the Imagination, which has released similar anthologies about optimistic futures in space and climate change since 2011. The Weight of Light is free to download in ePub, HTML, iBook, and Mobi formats from the Center’s site."

The quality of the stories is unknown to me. Hopefully the stories will be very enjoyable.

I've downloaded this already but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I've been really impressed with the projects coming out of The Center for Science and the Imagination at ASU -- Vandana Singh's "Widdam" from F&SF last year (Jan/Feb 2018) was originally commissioned for another one of their projects. This new one has stories from Cat Rambo, who's been in F&SF before, and Brenda Cooper, who I don't think has, but who is very smart about the future, as well as others. And the list of other authors they've worked with on their projects is like a who's who, including many who've been in F&SF over the years -- Bruce Sterling, Kim Stanley Robinson, Paolo Bacigalupi, Elizabeth Bear -- and other names you'll recognize like Cory Doctorow and Neal Stephenson.
