This issue was reviewed by Jason McGregor at Tangent Online, who... well, frankly didn't like it very much: https://www.tangentonline.com/print--bi-monthly-reviewsmenu-260/221-fantasy-a-science-fiction/4153-fantasy-a-science-fiction-mayjune-2019

Over at SF Revu, Sam Tomaino said "it's a good one."

Thanks, Matt -- I hadn't seen that one yet.

Well, at least the Tangent reviewer laid his biases right out there in plain sight: "I found the constant characterization of the human species and our technological society as, for examples, 'weeds' and 'hubris' and 'litter' offensive..."

Sounds like one of those pro-human types.

A very good issue, overall. I loved the cover (especially after the last issue's cover, which I hated). The stories were almost all good or better, but two really stood out for me.

Anything by Matt Hughes is fun, but having Raffalon back was a real treat. My other favorite was "New Atlantis," which was mysterious, poetic, romantic and haunting--really fine writing.
