The longtime F&SF cartoonist has died, according to a post by his stepson on Facebook.
I subscribed to F&SF at age tweleve, and for many years afterward, whenever a new issue arrived, Wilson's cartoon was the first thing I turned to.

Brilliant and unique. I had a paperback collection of his cartoons, years ago. Never got tired of paging through it.
His art was one of a kind. I'm glad he chose to sell some of his work to F&SF.
Some of you might appreciate seeing this---it's a 1971 photo of Ed Ferman and Gahan Wilson:

I love his cartoons.
Well, lord knows we could see it coming. Some photos were posted of him being nearly at death's door and trying to pen some drawings. This makes it easy for us to understand that he is no longer with us.
