The May/June 2020 issue of F&SF has been keeping to schedule, but due to issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the copies will probably be late to subscribers.

Also, there are major issues right now concerning international mail.

We here at F&SF are continuing to operate as usual and we'll try to keep you posted about developments.

The issue will *definitely* be late. Too many links along the supply chain are slowed or shuttered. Please be patient with us.

So pardon me, but I've a question related to the supply chain problems. And you may may or may not know the answer, or you may and figure it's still not appropriate to tell me here.

So, yes, all sorts of problems currently exist related to the material supply chain. Problems like international mail, paper shortages that even book and big-time magazine publishers are dealing with because a sizable segment of the paper mill industry moved to China.

This said, is Amazon hanging mags & periodicals up with delivering digital subscriptions?

This is not you guys. I got an email from Amazon saying they'd be (maybe very) late with my ASIMOVS digital subscription. Unless ASIMOVS is doing a thing where they tie the digital release to come after the print run, I'm surprised to hear that the Amazon digital pipeline should present issues.

    Any light you can cast?

I don't know what Amazon is doing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had to close down some of their offices. Or they might have employees working remotely who aren't able to get the digital material processed in time.

Here's one small issue we've encountered: even though we produce our digital edition from the same files used for printing the hardcopy edition, we check the digital edition against the print edition before going live with it. But this time around, thanks to printing and shipping delays, the person who does the checking might not even see the print copy before we're supposed to go live.

As of May 2nd, the shipping process is in the works but it's hard to estimate when subscribers will get their copies. Some subscribers might receive their issues in the next ten days. Others may well have to wait more four-six weeks and possibly more, depending on how well the USPS is functioning.

I received my copy yesterday (the 8th).

You're the second person to report receiving their issue.

The way things are going, I expect that some other subscribers will still have to wait 3-4 weeks before their issue arrives. Maybe longer.

I didn't get my March-April issue. My checkbook record says I sent in a year's subscription on May 15 of last year. I didn't receive any re-up notification until this month. I was looking forward to the March-April issue because of all the unusual story titles it had. I wonder if you can find it in your files to send me that issue, and possibly the May-June issue. I'll be re-subscribing shortly.

Wow, I got my May/June issue in Oklahoma City today, May 14. I am one of the lucky ones. Especially since One of my mail carriers makes mistakes. Thank you.

I should probably note that as of today (May 19), the majority of subscribers have not received this issue yet. Please be patient, folks. They're on their way.

Copies are continuing to reach subscribers around the country. As of 6/2/20, our best estimate is that 40%-50% of subscribers have now received their May/June 2020 issues.
