First, here are links to current information about the Eaton Collection and Eaton Conferences.
The 1996 Eaton Conference included a panel discussion
featuring Greg Bear, Gregory Benford, and David Brin, the three science fiction
writers recruited to write continuations of Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
This was transcribed, edited by me, and published as
"Building on
Isaac Asimov's Foundation: An Eaton Discussion with Joseph D. Miller as Moderator"
in the March, 1997 issue of Science-Fiction Studies.
While not officially an Eaton Conference, the Hong
Kong 2003 Conference was co-sponsored by the University of California,
Riverside, and co-coordinated by me, and it proved to be such a singular
experience that I wrote an article about it for Locus Online, entitled
"Journey to
the Future: Hong Kong 2003."
The
one Eaton volume published after I parted ways with the Eaton Collection was Visions
of Mars: Essays on the Red Planet in Fiction and Science, edited by Howard
V. Hendrix, George Slusser, and Eric S. Rabkin and published by McFarland
Publishers. Here is a link to
