Sizemore Editing Apex

Apex Magazine publisher Jason Sizemore has announced that he will become the magazine’s editor in chief beginning with the January 2015 issue. The magazine has been edited by Sigrid Ellis since late last year. The change comes as part of a realignment of Sizemore’s duties which will allow him to focus more personal attention on the magazine and Apex Publishing. Stories selected by Ellis will continue to appear in 2015 in the Sizemore edited issues. Sizemore also announced that Bianca Spriggs will be taking over as poetry editor, replacing out-going poetry editor Elise Matheson.

Thomas Resigning from Apex

Lynne M. Thomas has announced that she is stepping down as the Editor-in-Chief of Apex, two years after she replaced Catherynne Valente in the position. Along with her, Managing Editor Michael Damian Thomas will also be stepping down. Both will work closely with the incoming editor as the magazine continues to be published by Jason Sizemore of Apex Publications. The Thomases’ resignations will be effective following the December 2013 issue.

Apex Magazine Subscription Drive

Apex Magazine is running its annual subscription drive through November 15. Apex is offering several different methods of subscribing, both through their website and Amazon, as well as a discount for direct subscriptions. Lynne Thomas Named Editor at Apex

Apex Magazine has announced that Lynne M. Thomas, Curator of Rare Books and Special Collections at Northern Illinois University, will take over as editor of the magazine from Catherynne Valente.The first issue to feature Thomas’s editorial hand will be the November 2011 issue.
