Marcin Klak and Steve & Alice Lawson are this year’s candidates for GUFF, the Get-Up-and-Over Fan Fund. The winner of the race will travel from Europe to Australasia for Continuum, to be held in Melbourne. GUFF is not limited by geography, so anyone may vote. The voting deadline is April 3.

Australian fan Donna Maree Hanson was named the GUFF winner in a field that included Sam Hawke, Belle McQuattie, and Alexandra Pierce. Originally, Alisa Krasnostein was running with Pierce, but she dropped out after the race began. Hanson won in the fourth round of vote tabulation and will travel to Helsinki for Worldcon 75, to be held August 9-13, 2017.

Unlike last year, which saw a four person race to represent Australasia at Loncon 3, this year’s GUFF race to send a European fan to Australasia has only one candidate. Finnfan Jukka Halme is running to attend Contact 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. It is important to get out and vote in a one person Fan Fund race to ensure the fund remains solvent.
